CREC Church Plant Success Stories

King’s Cross Reformed Church

In 2021, the CREC church-plant network, then based out of Augustine Presbytery, agreed to sponsor our church-plant in Austin, TX. The commitment consisted of $12,000 dispersed over a year. These funds were key to giving us launch funds and gave us credibility in securing further funding.

These funds were utilized, in part, for travel to and from CA to TX to begin putting together the core group and to finance our initial interest meetings. This enabled us to have a core group of 70 persons for our first on-the-ground worship service in Austin in January 2022 as King's Cross Reformed Church (CREC).

These funds further assisted us in executing the church launch with ongoing personnel and facilities costs.

As of February 2023, King's Cross Reformed Church has 25 member families constituting 110 persons and has a total of 141 regular worshippers. We have a plurality of elders and are financially self-supporting, requiring no further external support. We are positioned to particularize at the first opportunity and have begun to replenish the funds given to us for the next church-plant project.
